Creating Your Own Affirmation Archive: A Supportive Resource for Bad Mental Health Days
Hi sweet babes! Today, I want to share one of my favorite tools for bad mental health days as a resource for y’all. This tool is the AFFIRMATION ARCHIVE & I’ll be showing you how to make your own 💓
What is an affirmation archive? It’s simply a folder on your phone where you save reminders for when you're struggling. Mine includes things like:
💖 Positive & thoughtful Etsy reviews
💖 Affirming texts & DMs from friends
💖 Photos of friends, family, my cats, & loved ones
💖 Screenshots of things that make me smile, i.e. cute animals (I love adorable goats & sheep!), affirmation graphics, & beautiful art
💖 Screenshots of notes to self
This is a strategy to help me remember how loved I am when I feel super unloveable (emotional permeance & CPTSD play a big part in this struggle for me.)
✨ Make a photo album on your phone (mine is titled “For bad days.”
✨ Screenshot texts from friends, DMs, Etsy reviews, things that make me smile from Instagram, ANYTHING THAT HELP ME REMEMBER THERE ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE I LOVE, BEAUTIFUL THINGS TO ADMIRE, & PLACES TO GO.
✨ Save them to the photo album you just created!
✨ I also save physical reminders, such as certificates, letters from loved ones, cards + notes from friends, etc., in an analog folder.
✨ Tip: Photograph these things & save the photos to your digital photo album if you want!
✨ Continue to update it as you gather more things that you find affirming & supportive.
✨ Swipe through this folder & read each reminder, take in each word, enjoy each photo, as much as you can, when you’re struggling.
✨ Need a place to start? Screenshot the below affirmation & start your album now!
